About the OBJ format

OBJ was created by Wavefront and is one of the most portable 3D formats. Blender, Maya, ZBrush and most slicers can import it.

Printing an OBJ model

Most slicers accept OBJ directly. If yours does not, turn it into an STL in one click with the STL converter.

Questions & answers

Do you keep a copy of my model?

Never. The file is opened by your own browser and is not sent to any server, which makes the tool safe for commissioned, paid or unreleased models.

Does it cost anything?

No. There is no account to create, no watermark and no limit on how many files you open.

Are MTL materials and textures displayed?

No. The viewer shows the shape in a single color, which is all a 3D printer needs. MTL files and image textures are ignored.

Why is my OBJ lying flat?

OBJ files exported from 3D apps usually treat Y as up. Change the Up axis setting in the View panel.

How can I turn an OBJ into an STL?

Load it in the STL converter, pick STL as the output and download.
